Amy is a passionate Salsa instructor with Salsabor. She says “Dance is my passion and absolute obsession. I am so excited to help spread the love of Latin dancing and am thrilled to see it growing stronger in Canberra each year.”
Born and raised in Canberra, Amy has always had a passion for dance, trying various styles from Funk to Belly dancing. During her school years, she participated in and helped choreograph routines for the Canberra Dance Festival, but it wasn’t until she began studying Spanish at university in 2009 that she was exposed to various types of Latin music and dance where she discovered Salsa. She was instantly drawn to the lively music and graceful body movement of Salsa and decided to actively pursue this new found passion.
Since then, Amy has continued to challenge herself as a student and performer of Salsa. Some of Amy’s performances and competitions include the Canberra Latin Dance Festival 2012, ACT Bachata Titles 2013, Australian Bachata Championships, Grand Final 2013, and Australian and New Zealand Salsa Solos 2013.
Amy is also a lover of bachata and it only took one dance before she fell in love and became utterly devoted to this beautiful style.
